An Oral History with Sarah Billinghurst Solomon
This opera will endure--it's so wonderful.
Sondra is one of the most phenomenal voices of this era. One should REALLY listen to her, singing and otherwise, because she has the HEART. She's an artist. ❤ Really and truly. For the love of....always
I'm a 75 YOA Black female. I don't remember ever hearing of Mr. Shirley. Everyone should know his wonderful and amazing opera story. Also, Mr. Shirley is a picture of fitness. Congrats on all fronts, Sir.
I wish the volume were louder but it's a wonderful interview
I cant understand that such a major and important institution like NYCO just disintegrated
Carol was a marvellous singer, highly intelligent, extremely musical and blessed with a magnificent and individual voice. And what a personality 💗
Oh, so this is the guy who did the foreword in C.Reid's "free voice" book. Fascinating!
wonderful.
Remarkable onstage and off!
Epstein’s Black Book led me here
how ? I went to their estate sale in Beverly hills and that made me google the address thinking who lives in this type of houses, filthy rich people... God never seen something like that.
@@nilabansal3696 it’s been a minute, but her name and number appear prominently. As in, not just another run of the mill entry. And I know it’s not worth much on a UA-cam comment, but I am far from a conspiracy theorist when it comes to this sort of thing. I see names and numbers and all I can say is that there is a connection. I don’t speculate on that connection is. One of the problems with Epstein is it is impossible to tell what connections were intrapersonal, versus which were outright nefarious. It’s entirely possible that this is simply a business relationship, but the waters are too muddy to say for sure. Reply to this comment and I will respond with the information, which I had come across, for you to see.
@@AcesAndNates Everyone knows, he did not commite sucide , in high security it's impossible but all these things are so so dirty that it makes me sad that human being is so dirty. I am ashamed that I am human, animals are better then any human.
Don’t apologize for being emotional. Feelings are a gift. I love you.❤
This was an amazing conversation
Great!!!❤❤❤
CCTV system
Carol Vaness: “I could never sing [Donna Anna]!” Also Carol Vaness: Becomes one of the leading Donna Anna interpreters of her generation. 😂
Great interview!!!!
You should interview the sensational Nadine Sierra!
la vi cantando zarzuela y se me pusieron los pelos de punta de la emocion, tiene una voz praciosa
Irriconoscibile
A great mezzo who was one of the best octavians I have ever seen
thank you for your creative genious. You have affected many people with this work of art
Please consider to bring this show to San Antonio TX and Houston
Listening to this brilliance… she is a treasure. Please do more…PLEASE!!!
One of the greatest Tosca’s of her generation …perhaps any generation. I heard her sing it with the late, and sorely missed Pavarotti at The Met as a kid … never forgot that astounding performance .
Her comment about music being easy for her is why music and drama should return to public and private schools. Not everyone is an athlete or academic and everyone had to learn in their own way and fit in. 😊
It would be wonderful if you could interview Johanna Meier. I heard her sing Norma and Seiglinde. Hopefully you can get her to do an interview
She is the most wonderful lady - a heart of gold and so modest!
They should go back to strictly vocalizing like they did in the old days! I've always wanted a teacher that would do that! I have a friend who currently lives in Vermont who would love to study with Diana Soviero, how can they be put in touch with each other? Is she teaching in Chicago or New York City?
❤
mark love you
Amazing Peter ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much. This was an important interview!
Dearest Diana ........... working with her was always an amazing learning experience - and I was blessed to have had three opportunities in my life to share that with her - first as a Stage Manager at Festival Ottawa in a Sonja Frisell - directed Boheme, and then conducting her Violetta and Mimi in the mid 1980's here in Canada. And now she continues to share her incredible insight and passion with future generations. Thanks so much, Marc for creating this wonderful interview !
mille graze e brava!
Eugene Onegin with her and Dnitri Horostovsky is still my favorite of hers!
This is pretty damn funny for such an occasion. Love the guy
I found it interesting and wonderful that that one of Greer's role models is George London. The voices are rather similar and just as equally Awesome!!!
Beautiful singer ❤
Donde puedo escucharla en mi español?
Great interview with this remarkable man. We attended his gala tribute. It was an amazing experience and a night to remember.
Very insightful information 😊.
❤ I'm a fan. I just became a fan.
Well said and he is right, "Che Gelida" isn't important sung as C or down as B and Puccini said as long as it is beautiful, and Fabiano agrees and says so here, a good interview with an honest man, Fabiano.
I paid to watch this but was unable to attend due to a scheduling conflict. I thought the conversation would’ve been recorded so we could listen/relisten to it when it was over. Guess not?
I also love Erie. I had the joy of appearing with her in a community production of A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forumn. This goes back to our Highschool Days, with a group known as Masquers. After many weeks of rehearsals and two weekends of performances, I had the joy of taking Miss Mills to our very first Cast Party. I watched the complete interview on OA and it is clear to me that the years have been very kind to this wonderful lady, it is clear that she loves her life and profession, that she still has the Granite City Illinois girl personality, and lastly, that I miss that I don't have a small piece of her in my life today. With love and all my best wishes, Harry Diak
Fair enough…
Wow wow wow...just now finding this...incredible...thank you for sharing this....incredible...beautiful.
